Aventa builds sustainable, wood-built factory in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico
AVENTA, a bespoke window and door manufacturing company, has inaugurated a newly built plant in
San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
The plant, built primarily from wood and sustainable materials, will use roof-mounted solar panels and
a water condensate recovery system to reduce its environmental footprint.
The company says the plant is among the first industrial buildings of its kind in Mexico to combine a
primarily wooden structure, solar power and water-recovery technology.
The new plant is located in the Polígono Empresarial business park in the central Bajío region of
Mexico, one of the country’s faster-growing industrial regions, especially for manufacturing,
automotive suppliers, aerospace, logistics and agribusiness. Companies operating in the park include
ThyssenKrupp, Hirschmann, Stant, Utz, Vesta, Samsung & Pollmann.
The new plant sees the introduction of a range of automation machinery, designed to increase the
range and quality of wood products together with higher production levels. The new machinery was
primarily sourced from companies in Germany and Italy.
The new machinery ensures a higher and constant quality, eliminating the need for manual sanding. It
also supports the operation of an assembly line designed to reduce and repetitive manual labour
requirements.
“Aventa and its team are proud to have built an environment friendly windows and doors plant in the
heartland of Mexico. We hope to receive LEED certification for a zero environmental impact plant
soon. Our broad range of premium products, made out of high-end woods and uPVC will serve
discerning customers both in Mexico and its neighbouring countries”, Goerdt Abel, CEO of AVENTA.
“Helping to develop the new AVENTA plant has been an extraordinary six months. I worked with
engineers and local teams on machinery installation, communication and training, while seeing the
factory take shape from the ground up. It has been a privilege to contribute to a project that combines
craftsmanship, automation and sustainability,” said Severin Ullyett, who recently completed a six-
month project assignment at the new plant.
AVENTA is a Mexico-based manufacturer of bespoke solid-wood doors and windows, combining
German technology with local craftsmanship for high-end residential, commercial and hospitality
projects. Its thermoacoustic products are designed for comfort, energy efficiency and durability, with
double- and triple-glazing options and exports to markets including Austria, China and the United
States.
