This is the terrifying moment a mechanic is engulfed in flames after a truck's fuel tank explodes into a fireball during welding work, leaving him desperately rolling on the ground as onlookers race to save his life.
The incident happened at a vehicle repair shop in the city of Shangrao, Jiangxi Province, eastern China.
The footage, shared on Weibo - China's version of X on 26th July, shows a huge orange fireball suddenly erupting from the truck's fuel tank before it engulfed the mechanic.
He is then seen dropping to the ground and rolling on the pavement in a desperate attempt to put out the flames.
Horrified witnesses sprint to his aid, with one initially trying to stamp out the flames before rushing inside to grab a large cloth, which he throws over the burning mechanic to smother the fire.
Once the flames are finally extinguished, the mechanic is seen slumped against a wall in visible shock as those around him continue battling the blaze and put out his still-burning clothes lying on the pavement.
Another man arrives carrying two fire extinguishers as onlookers tackle flames still burning around the truck.
Local reports said the explosion occurred while the employee was welding the truck's fuel tank, causing residual fuel or vapours inside to ignite.
Emergency crews later arrived and extinguished the remaining fire.
Authorities have not released any further details about the mechanic's condition or the extent of his injuries.
