This is the moment a 61-year-old driver crushes an armed robber under his car as he accelerates away from a gang trying to steal his vehicle.
The attempted robbery happened shortly after 11pm on 1 October in Lomas del Millon, in La Matanza, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina.
CCTV shows a grey Volkswagen Suran pulling alongside the victim's car as he sat inside with the engine running outside a house.
Two armed robbers got out and moved towards his vehicle while a third remained inside their getaway car.
But as one of the suspects ran around the front of the target vehicle, the driver suddenly accelerated.
The car struck 25-year-old Angel Nahuel Gilardoni, who fell beneath it and was run over by its front and rear right wheels.
The motorist then sped away as Gilardoni was left badly injured in the road.
Footage shows one of his accomplices dragging him across the asphalt, leaving a trail of blood, before hauling him into the Volkswagen Suran.
The gang then drove Gilardoni to his mother's home in nearby Villa Madero, where he arrived unconscious and covered in blood.
His mother called the emergency services, but police and medics who arrived at the property confirmed that he was dead.
Investigators later used security-camera footage to link Gilardoni's death to the failed robbery.
Police recovered a .22-calibre Bersa pistol and part of a revolver from the scene of the attempted car theft.
Officers also traced the Volkswagen Suran after its 28-year-old owner went to police and said the vehicle had been rented out that night.
The owner said 27-year-old Franco Abadie returned the car the following morning claiming he had been involved in a traffic accident, but blood stains were found inside.
Police later raided Abadie's home and arrested him, while officers also seized his mobile phone and the Volkswagen for forensic examination.
Abadie remains in custody accused of attempted aggravated robbery involving weapons and a gang.
Police are continuing to hunt the other suspects.
No restrictive measures were reported against the 61-year-old driver, with prosecutors considering that he had acted while trying to escape the attack.
