This footage shows a young black bear clinging to a tree in a residential street in the middle of Denver.
The footage was obtained from Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) on 23rd August and shows the incident near Louisiana Avenue and Pennsylvania Street, in the US state of Colorado.
The video shows the animal wedged high in the branches while officers hold back onlookers and wildlife staff get into position below.
Wildlife officers were called out on the morning of Sunday, 23rd August, after the bear was spotted up the tree in the residential neighbourhood.
Denver Police District 3 officers threw a cordon around the tree to keep people at a safe distance while the two agencies worked.
CPW tranquilised the animal and, with help from the officers, caught it as it came down out of the branches.
The agency said in a post about the operation: "It didn't have the smoothest landing, but the bear is ok!"
The male bear is around 18 months old and weighs about 45 kilogrammes (100lbs), and will be moved to better habitat and released.
American black bears (Ursus americanus) are listed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List, with numbers across North America increasing.
CPW pointed residents towards its published guidance on living alongside bears, which turn up in Colorado towns most often in late summer and autumn.
That is when they enter a period of intense feeding before hibernation, foraging for up to 20 hours a day as they build fat reserves.
