A Catholic nursery school teacher sacked after parents discovered her OnlyFans account says she plans to return to the classroom after a year away.
Elena Maraga, from Maserada sul Piave in Treviso province, northern Italy, announced the apparent change of heart on social media, local media reported on 4 October.
She said: "During this year off that I took, I felt that my calling as a teacher could not be set aside, so I have decided that I will return to school."
But Elena refused to discuss the plan when contacted by local media by phone.
Her announcement comes after she said last year that she missed teaching but would not return to the profession.
Elena was dismissed from a Catholic kindergarten in Maserada sul Piave in April 2025 after a parent of one of her pupils discovered her profile on OnlyFans.
The parent reportedly recognised her from her profile picture before images from the subscription platform began circulating in WhatsApp chats and Facebook groups used by local mothers.
The school initially suspended Elena before dismissing her, saying her adult content had created reputational risks.
The case triggered a national debate in Italy, with some parents arguing her online activity was incompatible with teaching young children while supporters said her private life should be kept separate from her work in the classroom.
Elena and the school later reached an agreement in September 2025 formally ending their employment relationship.
She also filed complaints alleging defamation and copyright infringement against people accused of taking and distributing her private pictures.
Elena had previously said: "Despite everything, I miss the children - but not the problems related to that job that I loved. But I would not go back."
Her latest social media post now suggests she has reconsidered that decision, although she has not confirmed whether she has been offered a new teaching position.
